Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System seeks a Pharmacy Technician II to support ambulatory, inpatient, infusion, or research pharmacy operations under pharmacist leadership. Responsibilities include dispensing, compounding, inventory control, and patient‑focused service in accordance with USP standards.

The role requires accurate data entry, regulatory compliance, and teamwork within a multidisciplinary care team; training and onboarding of staff may be provided.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Maryland Technician Registration or Maryland Pharmacy Intern Certificate is acceptable for students enrolled and in good standing at an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• 6 months of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Selects, packages, and labels medication and supply orders for pharmacist approval.
• Maintains inventory levels of medications and supplies and informs stock needs.
• Uses order-entry systems and BCMA-related technologies in daily duties.
• Delivers medications and pharmacy products to patients and care areas in compliance with standards.
• Calculates, measures and compounds medications per USP guidelines; may include sterile/non-sterile hazardous compounding.
• Collaborates with health care team to address medication management needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
