Qualifications

• PharmD or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
• Active MA pharmacist license.
• Experience with compounding infused drugs.
• Proven record evaluating and monitoring drug therapies for home care patients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Shift requirements include 24-hour pharmacy operations in Taunton with 2 full-time MA licensed pharmacists; flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law.
• Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
• Maintain confidential records of all patients and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients about medicines, including dosing, reactions and interactions.
• Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription medications.
• Provide services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on medical devices and proper handling.
• Compound medications for external or internal use; prepare sterile solutions.
• Supervise pharmacy staff and manage inventory.
