Job summary

TCI in Taunton, MA is seeking a Pharmacist for a contract-to-hire opportunity, on-site with varied shifts. The successful candidate will dispense medications, counsel patients, and ensure compliance with regulations while coordinating with healthcare professionals.

A PharmD or equivalent degree and an active pharmacy license are required, with experience in compounding and home-care drug therapies. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in WI.
• PharmD or equivalent degree required.
• Experience with compounding infused drugs.
• Proven record of evaluating and monitoring drug therapies for home care patients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Shift differential information for 2nd/3rd shift; 24-hour operation awareness.

Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law.
• Ensure that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
• Maintain confidential records of all patients and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients about medicines, including how to take them and potential reactions.
• Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices.
• Compound medications for external or internal use; prepare sterile solutions.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
• Identify drug-related problems and communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
• Work with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, and interns.
