Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) for the 52A Surgical Unit. The role supports post-surgical patients, assists with activities of daily living, mobility and comfort, and collaborates with a team of caregivers to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

You will work evenings from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including every other weekend and three holidays per year, within a unit that handles general surgeries and trauma patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within new hire period.

Responsabilités

• Prepare units, patient rooms and beds for receiving admissions, return from surgery, transfer, or emergencies.
• Provide and document assigned care such as bathing, feeding, bed linen changes and turning.
• Take and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Assist with pre- and post-operative care and patient mobility.
• Assist patients during admission, transfer and discharge.
• Perform hourly safety rounds and respond to patient calls promptly.
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain supplies and equipment, report any issues or out-of-order items.
• Complete ongoing competency requirements and mandatory training to maintain certification.
