Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General in Akron is seeking a PRN Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) for Perioperative Services. You will support patient comfort, assist with transport, rounds, and pre/post-operative care, working 5:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with alternating weekend and holiday coverage as needed.

The role emphasizes communication, safety, and teamwork within a busy perioperative unit. A High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification are required, along with basic computer skills; preferred

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross upon hire or within new hire period.
• Prior job or educational experience providing basic computer knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare units, patient rooms and beds for receiving admissions, post-surgical care, transfers or emergencies.
• Provide and document assigned care (bathing, linens, dressing).
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, BP, oxygen saturation).
• Assist with pre- and post-operative care and ambulation as directed.
• Maintain patient safety by hourly rounds and responding to call lights promptly.
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record.
