Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is hiring a Patient Care Nursing Assistant for the 52A Surgical Unit in Akron. You will support post-operative patients, assist with daily care, mobilization and safety, and document care in the electronic medical record.

The role follows an evenings schedule of 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, with every other weekend and three holidays per year, offering hands-on training and opportunities to grow within the Cleveland Clinic Health System.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS Certification required upon hire or within new hire period.
• Prior job or educational experience with basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare units, patient rooms and beds for admissions, transfer or emergencies.
• Provide and document assigned care (bathing, linens, positioning).
• Take and document vitals (temperature, pulse, respirations, BP, oxygen saturation).
• Assist with pre/post-operative care and patient mobilization.
• Assist patients during admission, transfer and discharge and respond to call lights.
