Job summary

Geisinger GMC is seeking a dependable Patient Transporter to move patients and equipment within the hospital and clinics. No clinical license is required, and you will work evenings with a 40-hour, full-time schedule.

We offer a $2,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, a minimum hiring rate of $15.25 per hour, and shift differentials for evenings and weekends. Join a team dedicated to safe, compassionate patient transport and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.
• Good communication and computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Assist floor staff with patient transfers to and from transport mode.
• Transport patients, belongings and deceased to and from departments.
• Assist patients in and out of vehicles and transport equipment.
• Lift and maneuver patients using proper body mechanics and equipment as needed.
• Transport specific patient care equipment, specialty carts, and beds to requesting departments.
• Assist with equipment management by identifying those needing cleaning and repair.
• Transport soiled equipment to cleaning area and broken equipment to biomed for repairs.
• Clean soiled patient care equipment and stage for redistribution.
• Maintain wheelchair availability in assigned locations.
• Greet patients, communicate transport destination, and maintain professional interaction.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to facilitate patient care.
• Receive transport assignments via Smartphone and verify patient identification bands.
