Job summary

Englewood Health in Englewood, NJ is seeking a Transport Aide to safely move patients within the hospital during evening shifts. You will use wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds, ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality.

You will respond to dispatch requests, help maintain schedules, operate transport equipment, and follow infection control protocols. The role requires walking long distances and assisting with patient movement, while staying professional and compassionate.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to push/pull heavy equipment.
• Strong communication and compassionate bedside manner.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed throughout the hospital.
• Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality during transport.
• Respond promptly to transport requests using dispatch systems.
• Maintain schedules and minimize wait times for patients and department.
• Operate stretcher, wheelchair, beds, and oxygen tanks safely.
• Clean and sanitize transport equipment after each use.
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff, dispatcher, and other departments.
• Follow all infection control protocols.
• Ability to walk long distances, push/pull heavy equipment, and assist with patient movement.
• Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude at all times.
