Job summary

Beacon Health Options is seeking staff to transport patients and support perioperative and ambulatory care activities in Kalamazoo, MI. The role requires evening shifts, 32 hours per week, and coordination with a nurse and supervisor to ensure patient safety and timely transfers.

The candidate should be able to assist with post-op transport, positioning, specimen handling, and maintaining infection control practices while supporting families and clinical teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 17+ years old; CPR certification required.
• CPR certification required; patient care experience preferred.
• Experience in acute facility or ambulatory surgery center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely between care areas using body mechanics.
• Prepares carts and beds for post-op transfer.
• Transfers specimens to lab promptly.
• Assists families to designated locations.
• Ensures patients are comfortable and safe.
• Assists with lifting and positioning patients on transport equipment.
