Job summary

Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a transport team member to identify, intervene, and stabilize critically ill or injured patients during interfacility and intrafacility transport. You will work with the transport physician and/or RN, initiating interventions and monitoring patient status per protocols.

Responsibilities include reporting observations to receiving personnel, maintaining equipment safety, and possibly driving ambulances.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support (ALS) within 6 months of hire
• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire
• Valid Michigan Driver's License
• NREMT EMT or Michigan Paramedic credential required

Responsibilities

• Identify, intervene, and stabilize patients during interfacility and intrafacility transport as part of the transport team.
• Initiate interventions per transport protocols; monitor and communicate patient condition and treatment.
• Report observations to receiving medical personnel and follow directives.
• Maintain and inspect equipment for safety of patients and staff.
• May drive an ambulance to transport patients or supplies.

Education

High School Diploma equivalency with 2 years experience

Associate's/Technical degree

4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
