Job summary

Memorial Hospital West in Hollywood, FL is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients and equipment throughout the facility. This role supports clinical staff by assisting with lift assists, wheelchair and stretcher transfers, and delivering supplies to busy departments.

The ideal candidate will meet basic education requirements, hold a current BLS certification, and be able to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, BLS certification required.
• New hires must obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful healthcare environment with effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or neuro chair to designated sites as requested.
• Assists staff with lift assists and repositioning of patients as needed.
• Assists patients entering and exiting vehicles, including transfers from wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
• Delivers equipment to requesting staff or department.
• Assists staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
