Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Support Associate for the Cobble Hill ED Evening Shift (35 Hours) to assist in maintaining the unit environment, set up equipment, and support patient care activities with the care team.

The role involves linen changes, patient transport, inventory management, medication handling, and adherence to infection prevention standards in a fast-paced hospital setting. Requires a high school diploma and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school education or its equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Removes linen from patient care areas and assists in changing linen on unoccupied patient beds.
• Distributes water pitchers, cups, and straws as directed by the RN.
• Assists in inventory of patient belongings and transports as needed.
• Performs patient transport of discharged patients to meet discharge targets.
• Ensures adequate inventory of patient care supplies.
• Removes waste and assists with meal tray return.
• Redistributes supplies and maintains pars across supply areas.
• Retrieves supplies from Pneumatic Tube and replenishes locations.
• Distributes medications picked from the pneumatic tube system.
• Picks up and drops off medications from the inpatient pharmacy.
• Notifies SCM/Logistics Manager of non-par stocked orders.
• Performs regulatory compliance rounds for supplies and equipment.
• Facilitates exchange of emergency code carts and boxes with Pharmacy/CS, etc.
• Transport of clinical equipment between departments.
• Demonstrates infection prevention standards.
