Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Patient Safety Technician for full‑time evening shifts. The role involves staying bedside with patients, providing calming conversations, and identifying hazards to ensure safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire (required).

Responsibilities

• Remains at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Provides calming and reorienting conversation with patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
• Identifies and removes hazards from the patient and patient's environment, and reports as appropriate.
• May assist patient with activities of daily living as delegated by supervising RN.
• Provides continuous safety observation via continuous video monitoring for at‑risk patients.
• Remotely monitors multiple patients via continuous video monitoring and summons staff as needed.
