Michigan Medicine is seeking a dedicated patient transport/ nurse aide role to safely perform lifts and transfers, coordinate with Lift Team and care staff, and uphold safety standards within a large academic health system.

The position emphasizes teamwork, compassionate patient care, and adherence to procedures. You will work under a schedule that includes evening hours and weekend days, with potential for departmental work mode flexibility.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of work experience as a Nurse Aide, Patient Transporter, or other similar position involving patient movement.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and to lift, push, and pull for an 8-hour shift.
• CPR certification.
• Demonstrate expertise to safely perform patient lifts and transfers using lift equipment.
• Expected behaviors include: independence in decision-making, customer focus, teamwork, adaptability to change and stressful situations, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication.

Responsabilidades

• Safely perform complex/dependent patient lifts and transfers using appropriate mechanical lifting equipment, collaborating with Lift Team members.
• Coordinate, inventory and maintain lifting equipment for patient transfers, lifts and repositioning.
• Prioritize and organize requests through autonomous scheduling and interdisciplinary communication to ensure efficient patient care.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing education for lift equipment and transfer techniques.
• Contribute to QA monitoring and documentation of lift activities.
• Consult with Nursing and other care providers to develop and implement lifting plans.
• Assist in building a culture of safety for caregivers and patients.
• Provide compassionate care to patients.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Demonstrate proper use of lift equipment for each transfer.
