Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Wait Staff Associate to support the Department of Food & Nutrition by delivering and retrieving patient trays within a room service model. You will ensure timeliness and safe food handling, while adhering to dietary restrictions and HIPAA guidelines.

Two years of service experience and strong interpersonal skills are required; High School/GED and a Food Handling Certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of service experience.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Maintains positive and friendly manner during peak service times with focus on timeliness, accuracy and excellent service.
• High School Graduate or GED (preferred).
• Food Handling Certification Health Department – City of Chicago (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver and retrieve patient trays in a room service model with timeliness and safety.
• Read tray tickets, adhere to diet restrictions, and answer questions from patients and visitors.
• Provide courteous, professional service and follow HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of carts and work areas; assist in dishroom as needed.
• Assist in tray assembly and support department operations as required.
