Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the Medicine Unit on the Evening Shift (37.5 Hours). You will assist the professional nurse with patient care tasks, support families, and maintain a safe and compassionate environment.

Qualified applicants have a High School diploma or equivalent, PCT/CNA training, BLS/CPR certification, and hospital experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• PCT program completion or CNA with related coursework.
• BLS/CPR certification required upon entry.
• PCT online program must be completed within 3 months.
• Experience in hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nurses with patient care tasks and comfort measures.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and unit environment for safety.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and data collection.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge procedures as needed.
• Render compassionate, respectful communication with patients and families.
• Assist with phlebotomy, fingerstick glucose and ECGs as assigned.
• Uphold infection control standards and patient privacy.
• Support team members and participate in unit meetings.
