Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the part-time evening shift (3:00PM-11:30PM) to assist patients with daily living activities and provide basic care in an on-site hospital setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient safety, assisting with care tasks, and performing EKGs and venipuncture under RN supervision. Training and certifications like BLS are required or will be completed within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire or current.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year healthcare experience OR CNA certification.
• PCA/PCT diploma with NHCA or Nursing Fundamentals coursework accepted.
• Enrolled in nursing program with completed Fundamentals coursework accepted if diploma/certification not available.
• Evidence of CNA training completion or Nursing Assistant training completion acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic care.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients.
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture as directed by RN.
