Job summary

Temple Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the SICU evening shift in Philadelphia. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and help implement the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.

Role includes measuring vital signs, performing ECGs, capillary blood glucose checks, and monitoring equipment and treatments. A High School Diploma is required; BLS is required; nursing assistant/medical assistant

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program is preferred.
• 1 year experience in a patient care role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Implements components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
• Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose checks.
• Observes and reports equipment function, treatment results, dressing condition and changes in patient condition.
• Incorporates the Hospital's Customer Service Program into patient care activities; adheres to department policies.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program Preferred
