Job summary

Temple Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Medical Surgical unit (5A) on the 24HR Evening Shift (3p-11:30pm). You will support RNs with direct and indirect patient care, assist with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, perform ECGs, and document changes in patient condition.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program or at least one clinical rotation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.
• Assists with activities of daily living and safety, ensuring patient comfort.
• Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose checks.
• Observes and reports equipment status, treatments results, and changes in patient condition.
• Follows the department's policies and Customer Service Program; completes onsite nursing certification within 90 days if not certified at hire.
