Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Newton-Wellesley Hospital seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and assist nursing staff. You will document care in the EHR, help with meals, mobility, and patient safety, and participate in a collaborative care environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to lift up to 35 pounds, and strong customer service skills. Evening shifts are provided with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Assists patients with activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Familiar with documenting in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Able to follow written and oral instructions and work with the care team.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with ADLs including bathing, dressing, eating.
• Take and record vitals (temperature, BP, pulse, respirations).
• Support nurses and physicians during exams and procedures.
• Document care in the EHR and communicate with the care team.
• Assist with patient transport and discharge as needed.
• Maintain clean, stocked patient rooms and equipment.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered assistance and observe for safety.
