Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham, seeks a Nursing Assistant to support clinical care under an RN. The role is 32 hours across four 8-hour evening shifts, with every other weekend and holiday.

You will assist with patient care tasks, monitor vital signs, help with meals and mobility, and maintain clean, stocked rooms. BLS certification and a high school diploma are preferred; healthcare experience 1–2 years preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to multitask and handle stress crisis situations effectively.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Demonstrated typing skills and computer experience required.
• Good interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care-related duties including vital signs, bathing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation.
• Ensure patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned as needed.
• Performs specimen collection and documents all appropriate information.
• Set up and clean equipment, report malfunctions per policy.
• Document patient data such as height, weight, intake/output, and glucose results.
• Assist patients with food tray setup and eating when necessary.
• Communicate with nursing staff about patient care and status.
• Receive and direct Medical Staff, personnel, patients, and visitors.
