Job summary

Responsibilities

• Admits patients to hospital and provides information regarding hospital regulations and policies.
• Conducts interviews to obtain demographics, insurance information etc. and enters data into hospital Patient Registration System.
• Communicates hospital's collection policy and collects deductibles and co-pay obligations.
• Obtains signatures on medical, legal and financial forms and forwards items to nursing unit/clinic.
• Maintains manual bed board and reconciles daily census to nursing units and notifies nursing unit of patient arrival.
• Contacts insurance carrier(s) to obtain information for billing and verifies patient insurance.
