Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston is seeking a Patient Account Registrar for the evenings. Qualifications

• Previous hospital admissions experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet timelines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer service experience required
• High School Graduate or GED equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Interview the patient or representative to obtain demographics
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable
• Coordinate with Admitting department, PBX operator, and reception areas
• Operate a computer to input and retrieve data
• Communicate with patients using age-appropriate techniques for all ages
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology
• Complete special projects or assignments within defined timeframes
