Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System seeks a Patient Financial Specialist I to ensure accurate registration data, verify insurance, collect payments, and assist patients with financial options in a busy ER setting. Experience in healthcare billing and EPIC is a plus.

Location: 500 S Cleveland Ave, Westerville, OH 43081. Hours: Sun 6:30p-2a, Tue 7p-1a, Fri 6:30p-1a, Sat 6:30p-2a. Knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 coding and payer rules required; associate degree preferred. Competitive benefits on day one.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; HS diploma or GED required.
• Experience in healthcare billing or patient finance is a plus.
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 and payer rules essential.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance.
• Communicate with patients about financial options.
• Process soft collections during registration.
• Utilize EPIC for patient data and billing.
• Understand third-party information requirements and payor rules.
• Apply CPT/ICD-9 coding and reimbursement knowledge.
