Job summary

100 Albany Med Health System is seeking an Access Service Representative I for the Patient Access department. The role entails ensuring accurate patient registration and discussing financial obligations while providing excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma/G.E.D. along with 1-3 years of experience, particularly in a hospital or clinic setting. Evening shifts offer the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years applicable experience, customer service and strong computer skill required.
• Hospital or Clinic setting office experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a stressful, high patient volume unit.
• Good judgment and resourcefulness to problem-solve.

Responsibilities

• Accurate patient look up to ensure correct patient is being registered.
• Interpret information received from Insurance Payer regarding patient’s eligibility.
• Discuss financial obligation of patient and collect payments.
• Explain regulatory forms and answer patient questions.
• Work in multiple systems during patient-facing interactions.
