Albany Med Health System is seeking an Access Service Representative I to support patient registration and insurance information capture. You will verify demographic and insurance data, interpret payer responses, and discuss financial responsibility with patients during service encounters.

Responsibilities include accurate patient look-up, eligibility interpretation, collecting payments, and maintaining the electronic health record across multiple systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. with 1-3 years customer service experience.
• Hospital or clinic office experience preferred.
• Proven customer service skill with ability to exceed expectations.
• Ability to multi-task in stressful and high patient volume unit.
• Ability to learn in classroom setting; utilizing resources.

Responsabilités

• Accurately look up patient to ensure correct registration.
• Capture demographic and insurance information for accurate registration.
• Interpret payer eligibility responses to determine financial responsibility.
• Discuss patient financial obligations and collect via cash, credit card or check.
• Explain regulatory forms and obtain signatures accordingly.
• Scan or manage online form templates to maintain the EHR.
• Comprehend regulations as they pertain to hospital registration.
• Work across multiple systems during calls or in person to complete registration.
