Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Surgical Technician to support operating room procedures in the Evening shift. The part-time role covers 22 hours per week, requiring CST credentialing or proven surgical competency and flexibility across cases.

The candidate will maintain sterile technique, scrub on diverse surgical services, and contribute to high-quality patient care within MercyOne’s mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
• Or graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience; or equivalent experience to demonstrate competency.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; CST certification required if working in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for the surgical procedure, including instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain the sterile field during the surgical procedure.
• Scrub in general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics; may be 2nd, 3rd, or 4th scrub.
• Adhere to MercyOne's performance expectations and job duties per mission and values.
