Job summary

Vista Senior Living Management, the dedicated senior living division of our organization, seeks a positive Cook for Eden Vista Rock Run, part-time 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, to support residents with flavorful, nutritious meals.

Set up stations, prepare ingredients, cook with grills and ovens, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen while monitoring stock and assisting with orders. Opportunity to grow into full-time based on performance.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience in a healthcare or similar setting is preferred.
• Ability to follow sanitation procedures and safety guidelines.
• Strong teamwork and communication with staff and residents.
• Good physical stamina to stand and work in kitchen for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients (chopping, peeling, cutting meat).
• Cook food using grills, ovens, and other utensils.
• Check food during cooking and stir/turn as needed.
• Ensure attractive presentation of dishes before serving.
• Maintain a sanitized, orderly kitchen environment.
• Store food and supplies properly and monitor stock levels.
• Check quality of ingredients and supplies for freshness.
• Place orders to replenish shortages where needed.
