Job summary

Volunteers of America Chesapeake and Carolinas Featherstone NVCLC seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. You will provide direct care, implement the PCP, and help residents learn daily living skills in a supportive home.

The position requires night shifts (Sun and Mon, 11 PM–7 AM) with a focus on safety, communication, and teamwork. A high school diploma is required; IDD experience is preferred, and Medication Administration

Qualifications

• Min of a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in IDD-related field; exceptions may be allowed with enhanced supervision.
• Medication Administration Certification preferred, but required by end of introductory period.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care and support to people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Teaches daily living skills and follows the Person-Centered Plan.
• Assists with medication administration as needed and safety procedures.
• Documents activities and behaviors in EHR/client files.
• Coordinates with families and planning teams and participates in team meetings.
