Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to join our health care team. The role supports the nurse by assisting with activities of daily living and perioperative tasks, ensuring sterile technique and patient comfort during procedures.

Work schedule is full-time, evening shift (12:00pm–8:30pm) with occasional flex, 40 hours per week. Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED preferred, and complete BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting in patient care and daily living activities.
• Familiarity with aseptic technique and sterile processing.
• Ability to follow directions and work within a surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in physical management of patients.
• Assist in surgical preps and patient positioning.
• Maintain and clean operating rooms and equipment between procedures.
• Transport specimens and logs as required by policy.
