Job summary

JMC Jefferson Medical Center in West Virginia seeks a Dietetic Assistant to support patient meal service and kitchen operations. You will assist with tray line, dish room, and various food production tasks while ensuring quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met.

The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to follow menu cycles and portion guides. Training and support will be provided as needed, with a 20-hour weekly schedule and on-site duties in Ranson.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handlers card or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• PIC training provided through County Health Department.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all work areas for operation, per task assignment including sanitizing and maintaining sanitizer strength.
• Set-up area including utensils, restock, clean and organize assigned area.
• Produces and maintains attractive, appetizing and quality food and beverage products.
• Follows menu cycle, proper portions and standardized recipes preparing food items in batch production.
• Greets customers, politely asks for order and serves customer.
• Addresses customer complaints in a polite professional manner.
• Cleans spills promptly and posts caution signage.
• Merchandises area in clean, attractive and orderly manner.
• Ensures all activities meet sanitation, safety and quality guidelines.
• Documents temperatures of refrigerators and dish machines; alerts management of malfunctions.
• Operates, cleans and stores equipment properly.
• Stores and labels food items and chemicals.
