Job summary

Leidos’ Defense Sector at Langley AFB, VA is seeking a NOC/SOC Technician (2nd Shift) to monitor DoD networks after hours, triage alerts, and coordinate with day shift. This role blends NOC and SOC functions and requires on-site work from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Responsibilities include continuous monitoring of SIEM/EDR, incident triage and containment, escalation, and detailed shift handoffs to Tier 2/3 engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 1+ year of experience.
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
• 1-3+ years of hands-on experience in IT security or related field.
• Proficiency with enterprise SIEM/EDR and monitoring tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, MS Sentinel, SolarWinds.

Responsibilities

• Continuous Monitoring of SIEM and network dashboards to detect security threats and outages.
• Incident Triage & Response: distinguish real incidents, run initial diagnostics, contain anomalies.
• Escalation & Handoff: escalate high-severity incidents to Tier 2/3 and write detailed shift reports.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: assist with routing, connectivity issues, backups, and patch management during off-peak hours.
