Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Children's Hospital to deliver therapeutic and life-support respiratory care in general and ICU settings. The role requires collaboration with the care team and families to develop age-specific plans and ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and/or certification required from a CoARC approved school of respiratory therapy.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Be able to acquire BLS within 3 months; ACLS/NRP/PALS may be required within one year.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care for all ages.
• Collaborate with health care team and family to develop age-specific plan.
• Administer treatments and medications and document appropriately.
• Provide patient/family education and participate in performance improvement.
• Support orientation and training of new employees.
• Demonstrate clinical leadership and manage resources effectively.
