Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE. You will assist with ADLs, transport, and vital signs, while maintaining patient safety and comfort under the supervision of licensed staff.

Shifts are 6:45pm–7:15am, three nights per week with rotating weekends and holidays; candidates with HS diploma and CNA training are encouraged to apply. The role emphasizes compassionate care and teamwork in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of first clinical rotation as Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Successful completion of the 75-hour state approved Nurse Assistant course or 6 months Nurse Assistant experience required.
• High school students 16+ who meet requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate care specific to the age of the customer/patient, to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment, as outlined in the Age Specific Criteria.
• Exhibits excellent interpersonal relations with patients, co-workers, physicians, and guests to ensure effective communications.
• Completes clinical activities identified in the patient's plan of care to meet patients' comfort/activity/sleep needs and other clinical patient needs as delegated by professional staff.
• Documents all data collected, in Cerner and/or on worksheets, accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
• Provides housekeeping activities to contribute to a safe, efficient, effective and sanitary patient care environment.
• Performs duties to ensure safe, efficient, patient care and work environment, including responding to calls and coordinating with the health care team.
• Assists with the 4 Rights of Delegation in nursing tasks.
• Prepares exam rooms and equipment according to provider protocol and maintains sterilization.
• Maintains work areas and supplies, keeps rooms neat and organized.
• Covers front reception area as directed and assists with intake and scheduling.
