Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Chantilly, VA seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to work Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. This position is within the Clinical Laboratory – Pain Management department and offers a competitive hourly pay and shift differentials.

Responsibilities include performing moderate/high complexity tests under supervision, ensuring quality control, adhering to SOPs, and maintaining safe lab operations.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology or qualifies as Technologist under 42 CFR * 493.1489.
• Foreign educated candidates must provide credential evaluation from NACES or AICE.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned analytical tests, up to the reporting step, under the direction of senior laboratory personnel in accordance with SOPs.
• Actively support and comply with laboratory policies and procedures.
• Adhere to analytical schedules to maintain a turnaround time of results including STATS or critical results to clients.
• Ensure that test systems are in control for each test performed.
• Inform supervisory personnel of problems in test procedures.
• Report deviations from standard procedures and cooperate with investigations.
• Maintain lab areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition.
• Adheres to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements.
