Job summary

Bull Moose Tube Company in Chicago Heights, IL is hiring a full-time Mill Helper to operate tube forming equipment and oversee mill operation, ensuring high-quality tubing while meeting safety and ISO standards.

The role involves changing over as orders dictate, setting up the de-dimpler, monitoring mill speeds, and inspecting finished products. Shifts run 4 p.m. to 12 a.m., with overtime and some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work overtime and/or various shifts.
• Steel industry experience preferred.
• Able to stand 8–12 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Operate control panel on the tube packaging conveyor.
• Manually package tube bundles when automatic packaging is not available.
• Operate pneumatic banders to band tube bundles.
• Set up and operate the de-dimpler on the tube mill.
• Monitor mill speeds and maintain shop floor orders.
• Check length tolerance using a tape measure.
• Inspect OD scarf and surfaces for defects.
