Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Minimum 6 years of clinical laboratory experience as a medical technologist or equivalent.
• Current State Clinical Laboratory Scientist license if necessary (e.g. California) required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains staffing by interviewing, hiring, training, and competency assessment of personnel.
• Schedules, plans, staffs, and monitors workflow to meet goals.
• Provides staff development through regular communication, feedback, performance management and corrective counseling.
• Oversees technical aspects and acts as a resource for problem-solving and process improvement.
• Ensures quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement plans are followed.
• Procures supplies and equipment to maximize department efficiency within budget.
• Performs direct specimen testing/troubleshooting as needed.
• Leads meetings and ensures Performance Boards and Huddles are up to date.
• Ensures regulatory compliance through documentation and audits.
• Interacts with internal and external customers for proper sample handling and reporting.
• Updates SOPs and database to reflect current practices.
