Job summary

Siemens SI - North America in Pomona, CA is seeking a Metal Forming and Punch Press Operator to set up, program, test, and run machines that shear, pierce, extrude, bend, and form copper, aluminum, and steel.

The role includes translating blueprints into parts, swapping punches and dies, and coordinating material flow with Handlers. The shift runs 4:00 PM–12:30 AM with a $19.98/hr base and $0.40 shift differential.

Qualifications

• Able to read blueprints and schematics to meet spec requirements.
• Proficient in basic shop math and measurement verification.
• Experience operating forming/punch equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, test, and adjust machines to shear, pierce, extrude, bend, and form material per specs.
• Operate shear to process bus bar and steel; follow the production schedule.
• Translate blueprints into finished parts and install punches, dies, fixtures.
• Interface with robots for pick-and-place when equipped.
• Load, position, and secure material; monitor operation and fix issues.
• Inspect parts for defects and verify dimensions with calipers and squares.
• Mark parts clearly, stack neatly, and manage scrap tickets.
• Coordinate with Material Handlers to ensure material availability and maintain cleanliness.
