Job summary

Regions Hospital in Minnesota is hiring Mental Health Technicians to support adults with mental illness in a state-of-the-art inpatient setting. You will work with psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers to provide a caring, safe, healing environment.

As a MHT, you’ll assist with crisis management, milieu management, and therapeutic programming while documenting care in the EHR. Requires post-secondary education in behavioral sciences and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of a post-secondary education program in behavioral sciences OR completion of one year of a post-secondary education in behavioral sciences or health care field OR has at least 1 year of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness OR 1 year of similar related health care experience as applicable.
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Performs activities of daily living (ADLs) on a daily basis.
• Provides patient care treatments including restraint monitoring, and collects patient data including vital signs, weights, intake & output.
• Collects routine patient specimens such as urine, stool, and finger stick blood glucose as directed.
• Respond to call lights and requests and assist nurses with procedures as requested.
• Documents and charts care provided in the electronic health record.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Work schedule: 0.5 FTE, 3pm–11:30pm, evenings; every other weekend and some holidays.
