Job summary

YMCA San Antonio is seeking a part-time Member Engagement Representative for evening hours (3:45 pm - 9:00 pm) at our Walzem Family YMCA in San Antonio, TX. This role focuses on welcoming members, promoting memberships, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced front desk environment.

The ideal candidate has customer service experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to use MS Office and ActiveNet.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Prefer a minimum of 6 months customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Certifications required within the first week: Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Communications.
• Certifications required within the first 60 days: CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen ( YMCA approved).
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Must word process at 45 wpm and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must become proficient within 30 days in the use of ActiveNet.

Responsibilities

• Responds to the individual needs of the other person.
• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in person and on the phone; contributes to member retention.
• Conducts interviews and/or tours and sells memberships.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members to connect them with the Y.
• Welcomes, connects, and supports members and invites involvement in community programs.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of issues.
• Assists with locker keys, towels, and locker room monitoring as needed.
• Provides administrative support to the membership desk and processes account data.
