Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a Medication Technician to join the Health Services team. The role supports residents by administering medications as ordered by physicians under supervision, in line with facility policies and nursing standards.

The shift is 2pm-10pm, with duties including documentation, reporting errors, and participating in quality assurance activities to improve medication safety and resident care.

Responsibilities

• Follow the policies and procedures of the facility governing the administering of medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
• Assist in developing and implementing procedures to determine why medication errors occur and prevent them.
• Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications for residents.
• Verify resident identity before administering medication.
• Maintain documentation and records, including charts and reports.
• Report complaints or grievances to the Health Services Director.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and medication-related committees.
• Follow labeling and drug receipt procedures and ensure medications are properly labeled.
• Observe and verify that medications are ingested or applied as directed.
