Job summary

PACS Health Services seeks a dedicated Medication Technician to administer medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under supervision by the Health Services Director and nursing leadership. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, adherence to facility policies, and collaboration with pharmacists and nursing staff.

Requirements include a high school education and a state-licensed Medication Aide credential.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Follow the policies and procedures of the facility governing the administering of medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
• Assist in developing and implementing procedures or programs to determine what medication errors occur and how to prevent them.
• Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, charts, reports, etc.
• Maintain a friendly, productive relationship with Health Services staff and pharmacists.
• Report complaints or grievances to the Health Services Director.
• Participate in surveys and QA programs related to medication pass.
