Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Registered Medication Associate (RMA) to provide high-quality medication administration and resident care. The role supports safe delivery of the Medication Management Program, adheres to state standards, and requires ongoing certification maintenance and CPR/First Aid readiness.

The position includes full-time and part-time shifts (2nd shift 3pm–11pm) with rotating weekends; walk-in Wednesday events provide career exploration opportunities

Qualifications

• Must have certification as a Resident Care Associate.
• Maintain continuing education credits as required by the state to keep certification.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe medication administration techniques.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willingness to obtain as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assists in monitoring and safe delivery of the Medication Management Program.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulatory standards when administering medications.
• Administers and records administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician.
• Presents medication to residents and observes ingestion or other administration techniques.
• Observes, records, and reports complications or side effects and coordinates with the Resident Care Director.
• Maintains records of medication effectiveness and documents refusals with reasons.
• Stores medications safely and maintains accountability for controlled substances.
• Documents vital signs during medication administration and communicates updates.
• Maintains infection control practices and uses Universal Precautions.
