Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a Medical Records Assistant/Receptionist at Vineyard Post Acute in Petaluma, CA. The role blends medical records oversight with front-desk customer service, supporting the Medical Records Director and ensuring accurate patient information in the EMR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare admin training is a plus.
• Experience in a healthcare setting, especially with medical records.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication, both in person and over the phone.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with office software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Medical Records Director with the management and organization of patient records.
• Ensure patient information is accurately input and maintained in the electronic medical record system.
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct visitors or staff appropriately.
• Greet visitors and provide excellent customer service at the front desk.
• Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, and photocopying as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations regarding patient information (HIPAA compliance).
