Singing River Health System Gulfport is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist to evaluate specimens and perform tests in accordance with established laboratory protocols.

The MLS/MT verifies results before reporting, maintains and calibrates instruments, and troubleshoots problems. Phlebotomy may be required; candidates must hold a BS in Medical Technology or a related scientific discipline, be ASCP or AMT certified within 1 year, and have 1 year of experience preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related scientific discipline required by CLIA.
• ASCP or AMT certification must be obtained within 1 year of start date.
• CLIA license: N/A.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate attention to detail for accurate results.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate specimens for acceptability and perform testing according to established protocols.
• Verify accuracy of results before reporting and report results in a timely manner.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments; troubleshoot equipment and specimens as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy (venipunctures, finger sticks) as required.
• Follow universal precautions, safety procedures, and exposure control plans.
