Job summary

Singing River Healthcare Academy seeks an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT) to evaluate specimens, perform tests, verify results, and report findings in a timely manner within the SRHS service area.

The role requires a BS in Medical Technology or related discipline, ASCP/AMT certification eligibility, and at least 1 year of relevant experience; strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related scientific discipline required by CLIA.
• Registered MLS/MT (ASCP or AMT) within 1 year of start.
• 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate specimens for acceptability for testing and perform accurate testing per protocol.
• Verify accuracy of results before reporting and ensure timely result communication.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments; troubleshoot issues with equipment, reagents, and specimens.
• Adhere to safety policies and exposure controls; perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to work cooperatively with staff across departments.
