Job summary

UPMC Kane is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to join the on-site lab team. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 3pm–11:30pm, with occasional holiday coverage. Sign-on bonuses of $12,000 (2-year commitment) or $18,000 (3-year commitment) are available, with terms applying.

Qualifications

Undergo training to perform moderately complex or waived tests independently.
Maintain quality control and adhere to QA protocols.
Accurately enter patient demographics and test orders into the LIS.

Responsibilities

Interact professionally with laboratory customers and respond to inquiries.
Follow lab and hospital policies, QA, proficiency testing, and safety procedures.
Recognize critical results and take appropriate action according to protocols.
Perform specimen processing and data entry into LIS.
Conduct tests with oversight for high-complexity procedures.
Maintain timely and accurate testing within established protocols.
Perform quality control and communicate issues to supervisors.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.
Ensure confidentiality of patient information and safety compliance.
