Job summary

UPMC Mercy’s Automated Testing Lab in Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated laboratory professional for a daylight shift from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. Hiring into Medical Lab Scientist, Medical Lab Technician, or Laboratory Support Technician roles; Lab Support Technician requires no experience.

MLS/MLT salaries start at $28.90/hour and Laboratory Support Tech starts at $19.80/hour. MLS/MLT roles may qualify for a generous sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for collection and processing of specimens with precision
• Enter patient information into the laboratory information system and ensure sample integrity
• Perform moderately complex or waived tests; high complexity testing only with oversight
• Conduct quality control and document results according to protocols
• Maintain and calibrate equipment and monitor inventory
• Uphold safety, confidentiality, and compliance with lab guidelines
