Job summary

Trinity Health at St. Mary Medical Center is seeking a Medical Lab Technician. This part-time, evening-shift role is per diem and requires weekend and holiday availability.

The position supports routine STAT and non-STAT testing, specimen processing, and instrument maintenance in a fast-paced lab. Ideal candidates have AS (MLT) with ASCP eligibility or equivalent, technical school/2-year college or associate degree, and a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Technical School or 2-year college/associate's degree in medical lab tech.
• AS (MLT) with ASCP eligibility or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability to utilize quality control and follow department policy.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes quality control for decision making to establish standards.
• Communicates critical values per department policy.
• Recognizes abnormal results and acts per policy.
• Performs STAT and routine orders within time limits.
• Collects and processes specimens.
• Maintains instruments and safety procedures.
• Assists Central Processing with specimens and Pneumatic tube.
• Monitors inventory levels and re-orders supplies.
• Reviews specimen logs and ensures completion.
• Adapts work schedule to meet emergencies.
