Job summary

Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, MD is seeking a full-time forklift/telehandler operator for the evening shift (3:00pm–11:30pm). You will load, unload, and move materials, work outdoors, and support production teams under supervision.

The role requires at least 3 years of forklift/telehandler experience, physical stamina, and strict safety adherence. Overtime and weekends are required based on business needs, with a competitive hourly rate and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ telehandler forklift experience in a construction environment.
• Ability to warehouse machinery safely, including forklifts.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and performing job duties.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and measurements.
• Ability to work independently and in teams while following safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Move, stack, load, and unload products and materials efficiently.
• Move raw materials and finished goods to processing or dispatch areas.
• Ensure goods are stored in correct locations for easy retrieval.
• Load/unload transport vehicles per bill of lading.
• Complete daily Pre-Op Inspection Sheet and report issues.
• Work indoors and outdoors and adhere to safety guidelines.
